To enter Qatar, citizens of more than 100 countries (including those from the European Union, Mexico, and other Latin American countries) do not need a visa in advance; instead, they obtain a visa upon arrival (Visa on Arrival) valid for up to 30 or 90 days, depending on their country of origin.

General requirements for the visa upon arrival

Passport: It must be valid for at least 6 months from the expected date of arrival and have at least two blank pages.

Outbound Ticket: You must present a confirmed round-trip (or onward) flight ticket.

Hotel Reservation: You are often required to have a confirmed accommodation reservation for the entire duration of your stay, made through authorized platforms such as Visit Qatar.

Stays longer than 30 days and other visas

Health insurance: If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, Qatari authorities require you to purchase local health insurance.

Layovers: If you’re traveling with Qatar Airways and your layover is between 5 and 96 hours, you can apply for a free transit visa.

Electronic Visa (eVisa): If your nationality is not visa-exempt, you must apply for your entry permit online in advance through the Hayya Platform.

Types of visas for Qatar

1. Tourist visa:

This visa is for people who want to visit Qatar for tourism or to visit relatives. – Eligible nationalities: More than 90 nationalities can obtain the visa on arrival or apply for it online via our platform. – Visa duration: This varies depending on nationality. 3. Qatar work visa:

This visa is for people who wish to work in Qatar and is issued by their Qatari employer. Requirements: Employment contract authenticated by the Qatari Ministry of Labor. Certificate of good conduct. Approved medical examination. Copy of a valid passport. Visa duration: One to five years, renewable.

4. Qatar residence visa:

This visa is intended for expatriates wishing to reside in Qatar for an extended period and includes various types, including: Family residence: Granted to spouses and children wishing to join a family member working in Qatar. Residence for investors and businesses: Available to individuals wishing to start a business in Qatar or invest in the country. Student residence: For students wishing to study at Qatari universities.

5. Business visa:

Issued to investors and business leaders wishing to visit Qatar for short periods to attend meetings or explore investment opportunities. Requirements: Letter of invitation from a Qatari company. Proof of solvency (bank statements). Visa validity: Up to 30 days, renewable.

6. Permanent residence visa in Qatar

This visa is granted to a limited number of expatriates who contribute to the country's development and includes privileges such as permanent residence without sponsorship and access to free healthcare.

Tourist visa: $100.

How long does it take to obtain a visa for Qatar?

In general, the processing time is dependent on the type of visa and is:
